The Happy Lion Children's Book Artwork Roger Duvoisin from 1954

From the children's book The Happy Lion

This is a vintage hardcover illustrated children's book from 1954 called The Happy Lion. The book was written by Louise Fatio and the pictures and illustrations are by Roger Duvoisin.

In the book, there was once a very happy lion.

He lived in the town zoo. He was happy in the zoo and one day his keeper forgot to shut the door.

So the happy lion walked out into the park. Suddenly, the people who visited him weren't as happy anymore.

Along with the story on each page are inked illustrations both in black and white and in two-tone orange and gold color.
